PERSONAL & COMMUNITY


A lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, Jay graduated with honors from Missouri Western State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. In 2000, Jay earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Following graduation, Jay worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office from 1999-2002. In October 2002, Jay left the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for private practice, focusing in the areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law, Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury Law.
